Texas A&M is an underdog by almost three touchdowns this weekend. There is reason to balk at that kind of spread when both teams are undefeated and capable on both sides of the ball. Alabama has been steamrolling anyone they play and Texas A&M has had a few close encounters, but still, 19 points.
Clearly, A&M is projected to be a longshot to win this game. But Bruce Feldman thinks they can do it.
He recently went on the Paul Finebaum show and predicted the upset:
“I think they have a chance to hit big shots down the field because their receivers are really good… I just have a hunch that they’re going to play very well… I just have a hunch that they won’t be that sharp this time around.”
It’s a fun take, certainly an alternative to what everyone expects. It’s also clever because, if you’re right: you’re a genius. If you’re wrong: you can shrug it off because Alabama is clearly a better team.
Texas A&M visits Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium this weekend.
