Ronda Rousey to the WWE has been a discussion that has been had for years.
Many fans of professional wrestling would love to see the mixed martial arts star bring her talents to the ring, but she has previously been held back by her obligations to the UFC.
But after back-to-back losses in the Octagon and a potential retirement pending, could Rousey be looking for other opportunities?
If so, the WWE could ultimately be a natural fit.
At least that’s what Paul Heyman believes.
Heyman spoke on the Fight Society podcast about the possibility of Rousey making a move to the WWE and he made it clear that he believes the fans would welcome and accept her. Not only that, Heyman sees plenty of intriguing matchups for the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion.

Heyman’s comments, as transcribed by FOX Sports, can be seen below:

“I think the WWE audience would embrace Ronda Rousey with open arms. Just her name recognition alone is huge. It doesn’t matter her past two experiences in UFC. All that matters is if she got involved in a story that people could relate to and could sink their teeth into and get excited about.
“I would personally pay to see Charlotte versus Ronda Rousey. I would personally pay to see Stephanie McMahon versus Ronda Rousey for a completely different reason but why digress. I think Ronda Rousey doing anything in WWE is a natural fit.
“I’d love to see it and would be happy to discuss with her all of the benefits that she could inure by being a Paul Heyman girl.”

Rousey has appeared front and center in the crowd at WWE pay-per-views on multiple occasions, but also made an in-ring appearance at WrestleMania 31 in 2015.

The fans enjoyed her cameos then, so there’s no reason to believe they wouldn’t appreciate seeing her actually compete.
As for who Rousey could face off against, Heyman has some options.

“I tell you what, there are women in WWE, it’s not just Charlotte, that could probably provide a compelling main event against Ronda Rousey,” Heyman explained. “Look at Nia Jax. I mean you talk about someone that could truly make you believe she could kick Ronda Rousey’s ass, Nia Jax is an impressive performer and a hell of an athlete as well.
“It’s not like Charlotte is the only one who could be paired up with Ronda Rousey. There are others as well. The women’s roster in WWE right now is unparalleled. In the history of pro wrestling or sports entertainment, there’s never been a women’s roster like this.”
