Following Week 8 of the season, the latest college football rankings are beginning to come out with the Amway Coaches Poll announcing its latest rankings on Sunday afternoon.
The weekend lacked the major upsets from a weekend ago, but the rankings still reflect some minor changes as the race for the College Football Playoff heats up.
Alabama, of course, sits at No. 1, while the Penn State Nittany Lions strengthen their hold on the No. 2 spot after a dominant victory over Michigan on Saturday night. Up next for the Nittany Lions is another key matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The remainder of the top five — Georgia, TCU and Wisconsin — remains unchanged.
Notre Dame was the biggest riser in this week’s poll, jumping six spots into the top ten, while the USC Trojans suffered an eleven spot drop to No. 21.
