Butch Jones rumors have been swirling all season, but after the latest for the Vols football program — losing to Kentucky — it seems all but certain that the Tennessee head coach will be out in a matter of weeks.
One of the biggest reasons a split hasn’t come sooner is because of Jones’ buyout, which is believed to be more than $8 million.
Well, that may no longer be an issue.
According to a report from Trey Wallace of The Ultimate SEC Show, Jones’ agent, Jimmy Sexton, has already settled the buyout with the university.

If that’s the case, we will have to see whether Jones is able to land a job as soon as he is fired. Vols fans will also have to continue wondering who will replace their head coach, with plenty of big name candidates being linked to the job.
