National Championship Betting Odds 2018: Heavy Money On 'Bama

The College Football Playoff National Championship betting odds continue to shift ahead of Monday night’s kickoff between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
When the lines first opened, the Crimson Tide were 4.5-point favorites.
That led to some early action on the Bulldogs, forcing the line to shrink as the week went on.
Now that we are just hours away from the opening kicking, money is once again trending towards Alabama and it could be causing some concern for the sports books in Las Vegas.
With most of the money coming in heavy on the Crimson Tide from the sharps and public, the sports books will need Georgia to cover in order to avoid a big loss.
From Covers.com:

“We have taken multiple five-figure bets on Alabama,” Brackett said of pointspread activity at CG books, including at The Cosmopolitan and Venetian on the Vegas Strip. “It’s completely one-sided action on Alabama, on account and over the counter.”
BetOnline.ag opened ‘Bama -4 and bounced between 3.5 and 4.5 during the week before settling at 3.5 since Friday.
“We saw some sharp action on Georgia +4.5. That pushed our odds down to the current number of ‘Bama -3.5,” Mason said. “So we have some reverse line movement going on, since 64 percent of the cash is on Bama.”
“Sharps are staying away from the total, while we have taken an $11,000 over bet over the counter,” Brackett said, while noting the ideal outcome for CG books. “We need Georgia to win and stay under.”

Will the Bulldogs be able to pull through to make the oddsmakers and UGA faithful big winners at the end of the night? We will find out in a matter of hours.
Kickoff between the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs is set for 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
