Kyriq McDonald: Update On Alabama Football Player Who Collapsed

Kyriq McDonald, the Alabama football player who collapsed on the sideline during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, is doing well after a scary scene on Monday night.
McDonald was seen on the sideline surrounded by medical personnel and with ice packs on his neck after collapsing during the game.
After some evaluation, McDonald was placed on a stretcher and taken from the field.
There was no immediate update on the defensive back’s status.
However, on Tuesday morning, an Alabama spokesman said that McDonald collapsed due to a “non-athletic medical issue.” McDonald also told SEC Country that he is doing okay.
That’s great news for the freshman, who was hopefully able to fully celebration the epic national championship victory with his teammates on Monday night.
Alabama topped Georgia to come away with a 26-23 win in overtime to claim the program’s 17th national championship and the sixth national championship of Nick Saban’s storied career.
