Late in the third quarter of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, there was a scary moment involving Alabama defensive back Kyriq McDonald.
While it was unclear what exactly happened, McDonald appeared to collapse on the sideline before receiving medical attention.
McDonald was surrounded by medical personal and ice was placed on the back of his neck.
After being evaluated, he was placed on a stretcher sitting in an upright position and was wheeled off of the field.

There has been no update on McDonald’s status at the time of this post.
The Crimson Tide currently trail the Georgia Bulldogs, 20-10, with the fourth quarter underway at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
