The UGA football program continues to strike gold on the recruiting trail. After an incredible first two years under head coach Kirby Smart, the Bulldogs are continuing to lure five-star athletes to Athens. The latest top-ranked prospect to join Georgia is five-star running back John Emery.
Emery, a standout at Destrehan High School in Louisiana, is the No. 2-ranked running back in the Class of 2019 and the No. 31 overall prospect in the country. He announced his commitment on social media.

Emery also had offers from LSU and Mississippi State.
The 5-foot-11, 206-pounder will be joining a loaded backfield that includes D’Andre Swift, the No. 6 running back in the Class of 2017, Zamir White, the top running back in 2018, and James Cook, the brother of former Florida State star Dalvin Cook and the No. 3 running back in the nation for the Class of 2018.
After the commitment from Emery, the Bulldogs now have the second-ranked recruiting class in 2019, according to 247 Sports. The Alabama Crimson Tide currently have the top-ranked class.
