Pat Allen Picks Georgia

Georgia continued its hot streak in recruiting Monday night landing its 17th commitment in the class of 2015 from Reisterstown, Maryland offensive tackle Pat Allen. The four star prospect from Franklin High School is the 11th rated tackle and 95th nationally according to rivals.com.

Allen was originally slated to decide at a date closer to national signing day in February but had a change of heart. This could be contributed to the shrinking availability in the number of spots UGA has left in its 2015 class. With two offensive tackles already committed and four star Emanuel McGirt heavily considering the Bulldogs following his de-commitment from UNC, Allen may have realized he needed to pledge to head coach Mark Richt sooner rather than later.

At 6’5” and 285 pounds, Allen possesses the size and athleticism coaches covet in a left tackle to protect the quarterback from edge rushers.

Despite the commitment, Allen still says he will take official visits to Oklahoma, Michigan, Tennessee, and Arkansas. The Rivals 100 prospect appears to be saving the best for last however, as he will take his final official visit to Georgia when they take on Auburn, November 15.
