WR Josh Smith Uncertian Versus Georgia

Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Josh Smith has a high ankle sprain, and his status is questionable for Saturday’s game against the (13) Georgia Bulldogs.  Volunteers head coach Butch Jones has already made it very clear Smith will not practice this week, and it appears that he will be a game-time decision.

“There isn’t a time frame on it,” Jones said. “He could be ready for Georgia, but we’ll wait and see.”

So far this season, Smith has been an integral part of the Tennessee offense, catching 10 passes for 135 yards including a 40-yard touchdown catch Saturday versus the fourth ranked Oklahoma Sooners.  Through the first few weeks, the entire Vols offense has been battling injuries including fellow wide out Von Pearson and tight end Ethan Wolf.

Jones, however, expects each of the players to be healthy enough to see the field as they begin SEC play against Georgia.
