Rose Bowl 2018: Local News Stations Mistakes Gonzaga Logo For UGA

Gonzaga football is back, baby! And they’re heading to the 2018 Rose Bowl to take on the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners.

At least that’s according to one local news station which miserably failed with an on-screen graphic while previewing the game. Instead of using the appropriate “G” logo for the Georgia Bulldogs, the graphic featured Gonzaga’s logo.

Gonzaga has not had a football team in 76 years.

Whoops.

Local news stations always deliver spectacular fails to the internet during major sporting events, so better luck next time, folks.

No. 3 Georgia, not Gonzaga, takes on the No. 2 Sooners on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, Calif. Kickoff for the College Football Playoff national semifinal is set for 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The winner will advance to the national championship where they will face the winner of Clemson vs. Alabama.
