WATCH: Donald Trump Takes Field For National Anthem At National Championship

It was no secret that President Donald Trump was going to be in attendance on Monday night for the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
In fact, his arrival led to a number of fans being forced to wait outside of the stadium as lines stalled in anticipation of his arrival.
But just ahead of kickoff, everyone in attendance was in for a big surprise when the president took the field along for the national anthem sung by Zac Brown Band.
Trump waved to the crowd as he made his way out onto the field:

If you were wondering whether any players decided to take a knee while the anthem was sung, don’t worry. We avoided any potential Twitter meltdown as both teams remained in the locker room ahead of the game.
The game is currently underway with live coverage on ESPN and its family of networks.
