National Championship 2018: Nick Saban, Kirby Smart Discuss Relationship

Nick Saban and Kirby Smart will go head-to-head in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday Night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in a battle between mentor and pupil.
Saban served as Smart’s boss from from 2007-2015, winning the Broyles Award as the nation’s best assistant and being on the staff for four national championships.
So when Smart leads the Georgia Bulldogs onto the field against Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide, there will be plenty of familiarity.
Ahead of their championship matchup, Saban and Smart sat down with Chris Fowler of ESPN to discuss their personal relationship and the struggles that Saban’s former assistants have had when coaching against him. Saban has yet to lose a game against a former coach, going 11-0.
You can watch the full discussion between the two head coaches in the video above.
Kickoff between the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs is set for 8:00 p.m. ET. Who do you think will come away with the win and hoist the national title trophy? Sound off in the comments section with your thoughts and predictions.
